Welcome to École Beauséjour!
Welcome to our website, from all of us, administrators and teachers at École Beauséjour! École Beauséjour defines itself as a welcoming and safe school with the following values: emotional and spiritual achievement and life in harmony. The school wants its students to know who they are, while developing a sense of pride and belonging to the Francophone community. At École Beauséjour, we truly live our Francophonie! « Oui », at Beauséjour, at every hour!
Enjoy the tour!
École Beauséjour wants all of its students to succeed at school and be accountable for the development of their full academic potential.
Our school is identified as Francophone and Catholic and is at the heart of the small village of Plamondon’s cultural diverstiy. We are far from big cities, but we know how it is done, in Plamondon!
We understand that our students have a lot of challenges to overcome, as they are part of the French-speaking minority in an Anglophone environment. We roll up our sleeves together to promote an environment where our students feel that they belong to the Francophone community. We believe that a tight partnership between school, home and community is crucial for our students to achieve their full potential and become independent and active citizens of the French-speaking community of Alberta, Canada and even… the world!!
Here is a useful list of different tools and quick links to several organizations and partners.
We publish a monthly newsletter about what’s new and what activities are organized at the school.
A Francophone education for people who truly believe in it.

Je vous apprécie tous. Merci!
Greeted by friendly staff and kids as you walk through clean hallways displaying school pride photos, art, and memorabilia! The bible is on display and God is welcomed! My kids come home off the bus happy and look forward to the next day activities. The Christmas concerts are by far the most spectacular highlighting the fine arts opportunities! Bravo Beauséjour!
Questions and answers
The school provides an inclusive and differentiated program to answer the francization needs of each child or student, from preschool to Grade 12. The resource that we use for assessment, support and follow-up is called “Seuil repères’’ and is published by Alberta Education.
The school must teach the same programs as all the English language schools. Starting in 3rd Grade, students have to attend English classes, as prescribed by the Ministry. Students who do not speak English can benefit from the same differentiated services as the students needing francization. We use the “Proficiency Benchmarks “, as prescribed by the Ministry, for assessing and following-up in English as a second language.
Parents are always welcome at the school. Even if you do not speak French, you will have many opportunities to get involved in the life of the school. Parents are encouraged to give their name if they wish to volunteer and they will be assigned to appropriate activities according to their level of proficiency, in the language of their choice.
The school supports the education of students who have different learning needs. The school provides professional assessments and testing starting in early childhood. Personalized action plans are developed in collaboration with the parents, including the necessary programs and support for these students according to their needs.
